MOVEMENT BREAK CURRICULUM

In order for kids to learn, they need to move!

Movement breaks or “brain breaks” are classroom-based physical activity programs for kids to get them moving more. Movement not only allows children to get their ‘wiggles’ out, but energizes them and increases their ability to focus on the next learning activity. In order for kids to learn, they need to move!

These breaks can be used to energize a group after lunch or relax and calm a class before a test or at the end of the day. We also consider movement breaks a time when teachers can reinforce fundamental movement skills with kids that are no longer being taught in PE classes.

Our movement break video content providers are all amazing coaches or PE teachers who are enthusiastic about bringing more movement into the school day. The videos are designed so that, if a teacher has in-class video capability, the video can be played for students and they can follow along with the video. Or, the videos can be used as inspiration for teachers. Regardless, we will continue to grow our movement break library so its a one-stop shop for movement break curriculum.
